The Business Solutions Group (BSG) function provides delivery management, business analysis, and change management services for technology-based initiatives aimed at supporting the achievement of business goals. It is also responsible for defining the partnering, prioritisation and business relationship model for our Technology business unit. The BSG collaborates widely internally and manages a network of external partners to help deliver initiatives as well as identify and implement improvements to our practices.

About the position:

The Test Manager is responsible for leading the development, management and continuous improvement of our technology quality assurance (QA) strategy and framework, ensuring alignment and appropriate integration with our delivery, change, and risk frameworks.

The role is a mix of leadership and hands on work across automated and manual testing for a primarily Microsoft environment.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and maintain QA standards and best practices, and develop test plans for operations (e.g. regression testing) and initiatives in collaboration with teams.
  • Establish and manage frameworks and tools for software testing processes, ensuring that a risk-based testing approach is followed.
  • Provide expert advice, training, and guidance to teams on test strategies and approaches to ensure high quality outcomes, and act as a point of contact for testing-related queries.
  • Evaluate and implement test automation tools and frameworks and promote test automation to increase efficiency and test coverage.

About you:

We are looking for a Test Manager with 5+ years of experience who has demonstrated software QA and testing success across strategy, management and execution in transformational programmes of work.

Comprehensive understanding of software testing methodologies and the ability to
  • modern testing techniques that are fit-for-purpose and accelerate test delivery without compromising quality.
  • Understanding of change management and the positive role testing can play in enhancing change and business engagement and outcomes.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to develop appropriate recommendations.
  • Experience with test automation tools, frameworks and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple initiatives at a time to deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure environments and Microsoft products.
