Job description
We are looking for Information Systems Interns to join our team over the summer period. This fixed-term internship will support a business-data quality project focused on improving the accuracy, consistency and reliability of data information across multiple internal systems. Working closely with experienced Information Systems professionals, you will assist with reviewing data records, identifying data inconsistencies, supporting data cleansing activities and contributing to improved data management practices across the organisation. This opportunity is ideal for students studying Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline who are looking to gain practical experience in a professional business environment. Key Responsibilities • Review, analyse and validate data information across multiple internal systems. • Identify duplicate, incomplete, or inconsistent records and support the resolution process. • Investigate data using agreed business rules, procedures and quality standards. • Assist with data cleansing, data matching and data quality improvement activities. • Maintain accurate records of work completed and provide progress updates as required. • Support testing and verification of internal data updates to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Escalate complex or unclear cases to the appropriate team member for guidance. • Contribute ideas and observations to help improve data management processes and system accuracy.
Requirements
• Currently studying towards a qualification in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Commerce, or a related discipline required to complete a practical placement, recently graduated, or expected to graduate in 2026. • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and data quality. • Good analytical, problem-solving and investigative skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. • Ability to manage time effectively and follow established processes. • Clear communication skills and a willingness to ask questions when clarification is required. • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and interest in systems, data, and business process improvement. Applicants must have unrestricted legal rights to work in New Zealand and must be available to work full-time for the full duration of the internship period. This opportunity is suited to current students required to complete a placement as part of their studies, recent graduates, or students expected to graduate in 2026 or early 2027
