Full job description
Job Summary:
About Team Event:
Team Event is a full-service event production company delivering some of Australasia's most loved festivals and consumer events, including Electric Avenue, The Great Kiwi Beer Festival and Nostalgia, plus huge one-off concerts in Hagley Park. As part of the Live Nation Group, we're a creative, fast-moving team that makes big events happen. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role:
Are you an organised and hands-on event all-rounder looking for an exciting new opportunity in Christchurch?
As our Event Coordinator , you'll help plan, advance and deliver our summer event calendar, from the first advancing conversations through to on-site delivery and post-event close-out. You'll be the one keeping the operational side of each event humming, across site infrastructure, contractors, volunteers, signage, accessibility and compliance. This is a 4 month fixed term opportunity over our busy summer season.
If you think you have what it takes, apply now with your resume and a cover letter outlining why you're the perfect fit for this role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Event delivery: Support the planning, advancing and delivery of our summer event calendar, with hands-on support during bump-in, event days and bump-out.
- Site infrastructure: Manage workstreams like toilets, power, water and waste, from advancing through to post-event close-out.
- Contractor coordination: Liaise with contractors and suppliers on schedules, site access and accreditation, and keep signage and radio requirements on track.
- Vendors and activations: Support the Vendor Manager and coordinate site logistics for sponsor and partner activations, workshops and seminar spaces.
- Volunteer coordination: Recruit and coordinate school, sporting and community volunteer groups, including allocations, briefings and event-day requirements.
- Health, safety and accessibility: Compile contractor SSSPs, insurance certificates and inductions, and manage accessibility enquiries for the Access Manager.
- Admin and reconciliation: Maintain contact lists, schedules and trackers, and check supplier invoices against agreed services after each event.
What you’ll bring:
- Event experience: Background in event operations, production or coordination, ideally with outdoor or festival style events.
- Organisation skills: Sharp attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple workstreams and deadlines.
- Strong communication: Confident working with contractors, suppliers, volunteers and internal teams.
- Safety know-how: Working knowledge of event H&S requirements, including SSSPs and contractor compliance.
- Tech confidence: Proficient with spreadsheets, trackers and general office software.
- Flexibility: Available for variable hours, including weekends, long event days and physical on-site conditions.
The Benefits:
- A vibrant, music-focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
- Access to concerts, events, and other entertainment perks.
- A flexible approach to when and where you work, designed to support balance in all aspects of life.
- A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters. Comprehensive benefits, from volunteer days to wellness programs and mental health support.
Equal Opportunities:
We are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion. You will be working in an inclusive environment and be encouraged to bring your whole self to work. We will do all that we can to help you successfully balance your work and Homelife. As a growing business, we will encourage you to develop your professional and personal aspirations, enjoy new experiences, and learn from the talented people you will be working with. It's talent that matters to us and we encourage applications from people irrespective of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability status or caring responsibilities.
