Full job description
About the organisation:
In 1947, Reddy Group began as a small family construction company in Suva, Fiji. Today, more than 75 years later, the Reddy Group has grown into a highly diversified global family office, centred around strong values. The organisation maintains a long-term view, and manages its investments and philanthropic activities in a way to best enable future generations to succeed.
About the role:
Reporting to the Family Office Director, this role takes ownership of NZ finance, treasury, tax and compliance, and supports group reporting across our wider structure, including our hotel operations in Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga.
The role leads a small NZ finance team, while also working closely with directors, trustees, advisors, banking partners, and fund managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management – leads and grows the NZ finance team, keeping an eye on performance, development, and skills
- Reporting – owns statutory and group reporting, making sure financial statements and audits land on time
- Tax, Risk and Compliance – stays on top of group tax planning and compliance across jurisdictions, including transfer pricing and risk mitigation
- Treasury – manages group cashflow, liquidity, leverage, and FX exposure, and keeps banking relationships strong
- Family Office – supports family trusts and corporate structures, working closely with trustees and advisors
- Property and Insurance – support property acquisitions and divestments, oversees R&M project budgets, and manage our annual insurance renewals
About you:
This is a hands-on leadership role with real variety across finance, treasury, tax, and family office matters.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 5+ years in a leadership/management role within a commercial, accounting, finance, or investment environment.
- A relevant professional accreditation (CA, CPA, or CFA).
- Experience building high-performing teams, from hiring through to performance tracking and development.
- A track record managing a multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction treasury function.
- Family Office experience is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Solid knowledge of the New Zealand tax system, ideally with some exposure to tax systems across the wider Asia Pacific region.
- A good handle on multinational corporate structures and trust fundamentals.
- Some exposure to investment frameworks, including alternative asset classes and strategic asset allocation.
- Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP financial reporting standards.
- Strong project and process management skills.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to talk through complex topics simply and with a balanced view.
- Comfortable with core business tools like MS Office, and open to newer tech like AI tools such as Copilot and Claude.
Qualities we are looking for:
- A natural leader who leads by example and builds a collaborative culture with the people around them.
- Strategic, adaptable, self-motivated, and gets things done.
- High personal standards for the quality of their work.
- A great communicator with strong EQ, who can bring people along with them.
- Organised, structured, and a clear thinker.
- Someone who genuinely gets our values and enjoys being part of the team, in and out of work.
Working for us:
This is a full-time role based in our modern Grafton offices, with carparking and complimentary access to a private onsite gym and fitness studio.
We are a close-knit, hard-working team, and we'd love to hear more about you and why you would like to join us – please include a cover letter with your application.
