About the role
As the Ground Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the courier fleet, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of services. You will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, supporting team performance, and ensuring DHL policies, procedures, and customer service standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate daily fleet operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time service delivery.
  • Monitor operational performance and maintain compliance with DHL standards, policies, and customer service expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, workflows, and operational efficiency.
  • Make timely and effective decisions to resolve operational issues and minimize service disruptions.
  • Build strong working relationships and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee Fleet equipment and operational resources, ensuring maintenance requirements are identified and addressed proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with all shipment security procedures, transport regulations, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering a positive, high-performing culture focused on safety, accountability, and customer service excellence.

What you’ll bring
  • Communication skills (English), spoken and written
  • Driving License Current and Valid
  • Must be available to work Monday to Friday and some weekends, hours of work would be conducted between the hours of 6am – 6pm
  • 3 years industry knowledge
  • Experience in a Team Leader role preferred
  • A relevant/valid working visa is required for applicants from countries other than New Zealand
