Full job description
Curious about a career in engineering consulting?
At Aurecon, we believe the world needs people who can engineer possibilities—curious, determined problem solvers who turn complexity into clarity.
Our paid 12-week summer Internship Program gives you real exposure to technical and advisory work, structured development, and direct access to experts across our business. You'll contribute to real projects while gaining practical experience in a leading engineering consultancy.
We have opportunities in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington for students currently studying Structural Engineering who want to learn, grow, and explore a career in consultancy.
Bring your ideas to life in either our Buildings team, helping create safe, sustainable, and future-ready buildings, or our Transport team, contributing to projects that help shape resilient transport infrastructure and connected communities, with a focus on bridges and seismic engineering. Depending on your placement and interests, you'll gain exposure to different projects, technical challenges, and career pathways. To learn more about our teams, please refer to our Teams & Degree Map.
Your summer could look like this
-
Work on real projects and solve structural engineering challenges

How we support your growth

Recognised by Prosple as one of New Zealand’s 2026 Top 100 Graduate Employers, and proud to hold Gender Tick accreditation and be a Pride Pledge partner, we support our interns to do meaningful work, grow with confidence, and thrive in an inclusive workplace.
What you’ll bring
-
Currently studying Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline and ideally in your second-to-last year of study
