Full job description

At Urban Solutions, we are an established civil engineering project management consultancy with over 20 years of successful client relationships and project delivery experience. We work in complex urban environments, delivering civil infrastructure, coastal and marine works, and public realm projects that create lasting value for the communities we serve.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Project Manager to join our team and support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects within a collaborative, technically strong consultancy environment.

About the Role

As a Project Manager at Urban Solutions, you will work under the guidance of Senior Project Managers and the Director to support and manage infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and handover.

You may manage smaller projects end-to-end or lead defined workstreams within larger, more complex projects. Our projects typically range from $1m to $25m and include civil infrastructure, coastal and marine works, public open space, and active transport projects delivered across communities.

This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their project management capability and progress toward a Senior Project Manager position.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting and managing projects across the full project lifecycle
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, and risk registers
  • Coordinating consultants, contractors, clients, and stakeholders
  • Assisting with procurement, tendering, and NZS 3910 contract administration
  • Undertaking construction monitoring and supporting project close-out
  • Preparing clear project documentation and reporting

About You

You are organised, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple projects in a consultancy environment. You enjoy collaborating with others and take pride in delivering quality outcomes.

You will ideally have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Civil or similar) or a related discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in infrastructure project delivery or project management
  • Experience working within a consultancy or professional services environment
  • Exposure to NZS 3910 contract administration
  • Strong communication and coordination skills

Why Join Urban Solutions?

We offer a supportive, people-focused consultancy environment where collaboration, technical quality, and long-term relationships matter. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of infrastructure projects and be supported in your professional development, with a clear pathway toward Senior Project Manager.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary plus company vehicle
  • Career development and progression opportunities
  • A collaborative and flexible team culture
  • Meaningful projects that make a real difference
