Full job description

Renewables & Energy Storage Engineer

Help deliver the next generation of renewable energy infrastructure, working on utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and power generation projects across New Zealand, Australia and beyond.

What the role feels like

This is a technically focused role within Aurecon’s Power Generation team, working across the full lifecycle of renewable energy and storage projects. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists and major energy clients, helping deliver complex projects that support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver technical input across utility-scale BESS and renewable energy projects
  • Support projects from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, geotechnical and electrical specialists
  • Support procurement activities, tender reviews and technical evaluations
  • Undertake technical risk assessments and lender due diligence activities
  • Review contractor and OEM documentation for compliance and design quality
  • Develop scopes, proposals and client-focused technical solutions

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant engineering qualification, ideally electrical
  • 5+ years’ experience within the power or renewable energy sector
  • Experience with BESS projects and grid connection infrastructure
  • Broad understanding of electrical infrastructure and power systems
  • Strong problem-solving and technical communication capability
  • Collaborative and innovative approach to project delivery
