Full job description

Vector: Powering Auckland. Shaping the future.

Life at Vector means being part of something bigger.

Here, your work matters. We keep the lights on across Auckland, and each of us plays a key role in supporting the future of Auckland’s energy network.

We’re looking for an Easement Coordinator to join our Legal team on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time basis. This role will work 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around how those hours are worked.

The role

This is a great opportunity for someone with property legal administration experience who enjoys detail, process, coordination and keeping things moving.

You’ll play an important role in supporting the end-to-end administration of Vector’s property rights and easement processes. This includes helping manage easements, surrender of easements, caveats, withdrawal of caveats and consent documents, from initial instruction through to document preparation, lodgement, registration and record completion.

This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive, has experience working with property-related legal documentation, and is keen to bring fresh thinking to how work is managed and improved.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating business-as-usual easement and property rights matters from instruction through to registration and completion.
  • Managing and responding to emails through the easement team inbox.
  • Supporting document preparation, signing, lodgement and registration processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation for open and completed property matters.
  • Tracking key dates, follow-ups and work in progress.
  • Liaising with internal teams, landowners, solicitors and other external stakeholders.
  • Helping consolidate and organise historic easement records so information is easy to find and rely on.
  • Supporting the Senior Legal Property Counsel with property rights process matters and escalating technical legal issues when needed.
  • Bringing initiative, curiosity and ideas for how processes could be improved.

What you'll bring

  • Legal assistant or legal administration experience, ideally within a property-related environment.
  • Experience working with property-related legal documentation and exposure to property rights, easements, conveyancing, registrations or other land-related legal processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence managing documentation, records and information accurately.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep matters progressing through to completion.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders, landowners, solicitors and other external parties.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to follow up information, ask questions and contribute new ideas.
  • A practical, team-focused mindset and strong sense of ownership.

Why Vector?

This is interesting, meaningful work that supports teams across the business and helps protect Vector’s property rights across Auckland’s energy network.

You’ll be joining a supportive team where you’ll have the opportunity to learn, contribute and genuinely help make things easier for the people you work with.

We know that great energy starts with great people, and we’re committed to creating an environment where you can be, do and achieve your best. You’ll have access to Vector’s benefits package, flexible working, development opportunities and a culture that values fresh thinking, collaboration and care.

Apply now

If you’re looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity where you can use your property legal administration experience, support meaningful work and be part of a team that values initiative and accuracy, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications close 21 August, however interviews may be held sooner, so apply today.

Additional Information

We know that some people may hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every single requirement. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply anyway - your skills, enthusiasm, and unique perspective could be just what we’re looking for.

Vector values diversity in all its forms and welcomes people of all backgrounds, experiences, identities and abilities to be part of our team.
