Full job description

We're looking for a commercially sharp Business Development Manager to grow our client base and turn warm opportunities into long-term partnerships. You'll be the first point of contact for prospective clients — qualifying leads, running discovery conversations, and guiding them through a consultative sales process. You'll work closely with the delivery team to ensure what you sell is what we can genuinely deliver.

This is a fully remote role with flexibility over how you structure your day — what matters is results.

What you'll do

  • Own the full sales cycle from warm lead to signed contract
  • Work an existing pipeline of warm leads and expand into new verticals
  • Develop a deep understanding of client needs and match them to our solutions
  • Prepare proposals, scope documents, and commercial terms
  • Build lasting relationships beyond the initial sale — driving upsell and referrals
  • Track pipeline activity in CRM and report on forecasts weekly
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy

What we're looking for

  • 3–6 years in a business development or sales role, ideally within a creative agency or tech company
  • Proven track record of closing deals and hitting revenue targets
  • Comfortable selling intangible, creative, or technical services — not just products
  • Natural relationship builder who listens first and pitches second
  • Strong written and verbal communication — confident presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar)

Nice to have

  • Background at a digital, design, or creative technology agency
  • Familiarity with SaaS, AI tools, or emerging tech products
  • Existing network in relevant NZ or APAC industries
