Here at Westpac New Zealand, our insurance business straddles two industries - Life Insurance and Fire & General Insurance. To manage and support the situation in Canterbury as a result of the earthquakes we are looking for an Earthquake Recovery Manager join our team.
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the management of the insurance aspects of the Canterbury earthquake recovery including developing strategies to deal with existing and emerging challenges. You will be working with customers and the front line business units in Canterbury to manage complex customer complaints and issues by:
Handling day to day issues relating to Canterbury earthquakes including customer complaints; working closely with business partners to find a solution for the customer
Identifying trends or root cause issues with the Westpac earthquake response
Working alongside Westpac business units and Westpac business partners to proactively uncover issues and provide solutions in order to manage and prevent customer complaints
Working closely with both internal and external Business partners, including different areas such as Claims, Underwriting, Management, Loss Adjusters and Project Managers
To be successful in this role you will have a strong knowledge of general insurance principles, practises and Consumer legislation, a proven ability to influence and articulate logical outcomes and the ability to interpret when an issue or problem should be escalated. Our ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years Insurance experience along with a relevant tertiary qualification.
