We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to take a strategic approach in leading a group of HR practitioners to build people and performance capability at the Ministry. This includes leading the delivery of a range of HR functions to support a high performing organisation, including:
Capability
HR Advisory
Payroll
HR Systems Analysis and Reporting.
The leadership role will also involve:
Promoting developing and growing the HR proposition and practice Ministry wide
Building a culture of high performance within the HR team to ensure it delivers
Working collaboratively with business partners to achieve quality outcomes
Interfacing with the public sector
Aligning the Ministry's people capability culture and performance with its vision and purpose
Developing overarching HR policies and procedure across the whole organisation that have flexibility to meet the needs of individual business groups
Leading the development and delivery of high quality HR programmes, advice and services that support the Ministry to deliver its goals.
As the HR Manager, you build credibility with senior leaders in the Ministry and enable strong sustainable working relationships between managers and the teams you lead.
You have a track record in developing and then implementing change strategies within large organisations and have demonstrated skills in negotiating and the ability to influence.
What's more you will be forward thinking, solutions focussed and professional in managing relationships within a complex and demanding environment.
This position is permanent and full time, based in Wellington.
