Make a difference for young people.
Great team environment.
Bring young people's perspectives into public decision making.
Improving outcomes for our young people is critical to economic and social development in New Zealand. The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) helps individuals, groups and organisations that work with young people to be aware of youth issues and interests, understand and apply a strength-based youth development approach and to bring young people's perspectives into public decision making and community leadership.
We are looking for a Regional Youth Participation Advisor to join our regional team based in Rotorua. You will be confident and experienced in developing and delivering on strategies and plans for youth engagement in decision making. You will need to be culturally competent and have an understanding of Te Ao Maori. You will have highly developed communication skills particularly in writing for a public sector audience. To succeed in this role you will need the ability to establish credibility, and influence and manage key stakeholder relationships at all levels.
You will bring experience in working with young people, strong relationship management skills, advanced written skills and a positive, achievement focussed attitude. In return we offer a close knit and collegial team environment, the opportunities that come from working within New Zealand's largest public sector organisation and a role where you have a real opportunity to have an impact in your community as well as New Zealand more broadly.
