Full job description
Are you an experienced Clinical Engineering Technician looking for an exciting opportunity in the healthcare sector? Join a large health-based organisation, where you’ll play a key role in the maintenance, repair, calibration, and safety testing of medical equipment. The client will also consider Junior Clinical Engineering Technicians.
This role is a 6 month assignment working 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation and commissioning of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and standards
- Perform routine inspections, repairs, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment to ensure peak performance
- Carry out accurate calibration and testing to maintain equipment precision
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to keep equipment in optimal condition
- Ensure corrective maintenance is performed according to engineering practices and manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain and update equipment records to ensure full documentation
- Oversee the responsible decommissioning and disposal of obsolete or unserviceable equipment
- Adhere to all regulations and standards for medical equipment maintenance
- Manage risk, quality assurance, and ensure compliance with relevant safety protocols
Skills & Qualifications:
- NZQA Level 7 Engineering Qualification (or equivalent)
- Biomedical experience
- EWRB registration/EST Licence
- Proven practical experience in a similar role
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
