He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council's Public Art team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of public art projects across the region. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Auckland's cultural identity by delivering permanent and temporary public artworks that enhance public spaces and create meaningful connections with communities.

Working closely with the Manager Public Art, artists, mana whenua, developers, contractors, community stakeholders and council teams, you will manage projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, effectively and in line with approved scope, budget and programme requirements.

You will:

• Lead the planning, procurement and delivery of public art projects across Auckland.
• Manage project scope, budgets, risks, contracts and stakeholder relationships and comms to achieve successful outcomes.
• Support the stewardship of Auckland Council's public art collection, including renewals, maintenance and relocations.
• Work closely with internal and external partners to establish trusted relationships and facilitate the successful delivery of projects.

You'll be an experienced project manager who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys delivering high-quality outcomes. You will bring:

• Proven experience delivering complex projects, including budget, procurement and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships across diverse groups.
• Knowledge of the arts, cultural or public art sector, or experience working in a related project environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• A commitment to te ao Māori and delivering positive outcomes for Auckland's communities.

Salary: $91,027 - $96,381 per annum based on skills & experience, plus 3.5% kiwisaver
