Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Relationship Associate, you will be responsible for supporting Relationship Managers (RM) in making banking easier for customers and providing customer solutions and insights by conducting financial analysis, and lending support for designated customer groups. The Relationship Associate will develop credit and relationship skills and within 12 months of role commencement they may hold a small CAD and manage 3 or more accounts (at Senior Manager and credit discretion). The role is ideal for emerging staff with the potential to take on Relationship Management responsibilities.

As a Relationship Associate, you will have the opportunity to:

• Understand customer portfolios, their numbers, goals, challenges and value propositions
• Enhance bank’s profile by showing an understanding of customer industries and associated markets
• Develop effective relationships and work collaboratively both within Business and across ANZ
• Work with Relationship Managers/Senior Managers and product partners to develop and deliver appropriate customer solutions and resolve concerns
• Ensure the Bank’s standards of compliance and operational excellence are maintained
• Provide support for financial analysis and interpretation of customer information to ensure accurate credit decisions are made at all times
• Maintain a full knowledge of the Bank’s credit issues and policies so that appropriate decisions are made

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Great financial literacy, analytical skills, commercial and business acumen
• Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends
• Prior experience in developing strong relationships in a customer delivery/ customer experience role
• Sound understanding of the structuring of security arrangements
• Experience in the banking industry is an advantage, but not a requirement
• Preferably possesses an accounting or finance degree or equivalent, though not a strict requirement
