Fancy spending your summer working by the water?

We’re inviting expressions of interest from experienced waiters, waitresses and bartenders to join Hello Sailor for our busy summer season.

We’re looking for people with personality, positive energy and a love for hospitality. Whether you’re looking after tables or making drinks behind the bar, you’ll help create the fun, welcoming atmosphere our guests come back for.

The roles

• Fixed-term contracts from November 2026 to 1 March 2027, with potential to extend.
• Full-time and part-time opportunities.
• Availability to work Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout summer is essential.
• Evening and public holiday availability required.
• Must be able to work Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day if required

What you’ll be doing

• Giving guests a warm welcome and friendly, attentive service.
• Taking orders, serving food and drinks, and processing payments.
• Learning our menus and making confident recommendations.
• For bartenders, preparing drinks consistently and keeping the bar organised.
• Keeping tables, service areas and the venue clean and ready for guests.
• Working closely with the team to keep busy services running smoothly.

Who we’re looking for

• At least one year’s hospitality experience in a floor or bar role in a bar or restaurant ( No fast food / cafe )
• A confident, outgoing personality and strong communication skills.
• The ability to stay calm, organised and positive during busy shifts.
• A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
• Pride in delivering a great guest experience.
• For bartenders, previous bar experience is essential; cocktail experience is a bonus.
• Must live in the local area or have access to a car.

Please do not apply if you live in the north shore and take public transport, The commute can be brutal!
