Commis Chef (Part-Time – 20–30 hours per week) | Good Day
Join Good Day, the vibrant dining and bar destination at Rydges Wellington Airport. Fast-paced and guest-focused, Good Day delivers quality food experiences to travellers from around the world.
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring chef to develop their skills in a supportive kitchen environment while working alongside experienced chefs.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks as directed by senior chefs
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are clean and organised
• Follow daily checklists and complete tasks efficiently and accurately
• Minimise wastage and ensure correct storage of food items
• Support service periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment in line with WH&S standards
• Continue developing knowledge of food products, techniques, and menus

What You’ll Bring

• Previous kitchen experience or relevant training (preferred but not essential)
• Passion for food and a strong desire to learn and grow
• Positive attitude and willingness to take direction
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
