Proudly supporting the mighty Waikato, we're seeking an experienced Knife Hand / Meat Processor to join our Hamilton Butchery team.

  • Location: Simsey Place, Te Rapa Park, Hamilton
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Working Days: Wednesday to Saturday (4 days/week)
  • Hours: 09:00 AM – 06:00 PM
  • Start Date: Immediate

Mō te tūranga mahi | About the Role

As a Knife Hand - Meat Processor, you’ll be part of a fast-paced team delivering high-quality meat cuts to specification. You’ll bring precision, efficiency, and consistency to every task, supporting the coordination of on-time delivery of protein products from our Waikato Butchery Processing Plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cutting meat to separate fat, tissue, and bone
  • Performing specialised cuts and deboning
  • Preparing beef, lamb, pork, and poultry products to specification
  • Wrapping, packing, and labelling meat products
  • Operating processing machinery and multi-station deboning lines
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure product standards are met
  • Maintaining food safety and hygiene compliance
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas
  • Assisting with heavy lifting and ingredient batching as required
  • Ensuring correct stock rotation and storage practices
  • Supporting production efficiency, traceability, and quality control processes

You’re self-motivated, physically fit, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You take pride in your work and bring a strong commitment to food safety and operational excellence.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A trade qualification or relevant butchery experience
  • 3–4 years of hands-on industry experience
  • Proven skills in beef and/or poultry boning, trimming and slicing
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • A stable employment history with contactable references
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • A commitment to workplace safety, food hygiene, and teamwork

This role involves working in a chilled, temperature-controlled processing facility. The successful applicant must be physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, performing repetitive hand and arm movements, undertaking precision butcher meat cutting, and regularly lifting and handling meat products in accordance with safe work practices.
