Full job description

We're looking for an experienced Café Supervisor / Lead Barista to help lead the day-to-day operation of one of our cafés.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about coffee, leads by example, and enjoys taking ownership of their work. You'll work closely with our Venue Manager and Head Office team while being trusted to keep the café running smoothly during your shifts.

As a smaller café, there are quieter periods throughout the day. We're looking for someone who takes initiative and can identify what needs to be done without waiting to be directed. There's always something that can be cleaned, organised, stocked, or improved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare consistently high-quality coffee and beverages
  • Lead the team during service and set the standard on the floor
  • Open and close the café independently when required
  • Deliver outstanding customer service
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation
  • Complete clear daily operational reports and communicate effectively with Head Office
  • Assist with stock ordering and inventory control
  • Support and coach team members during shifts
  • Ensure company procedures and standards are followed

About You

  • Previous experience as a Senior Barista, Café Supervisor, or similar leadership role
  • Excellent barista skills and confidence working on a commercial espresso machine
  • Able to run the café independently when required
  • Leads by example with a positive, hands-on attitude
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to identify and complete tasks independently during quieter periods
  • Takes pride in keeping the café clean, organised, well stocked, and running smoothly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including providing clear daily operational updates
  • Comfortable using Google Drive and basic digital systems for communication and reporting
  • Reliable, organised, and able to remain calm under pressure
