Barista / Front of House (FOH)
We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Barista / Front of House team member to join our hospitality team. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $25-$30 p/h. You will need to work according to the roster, including weekends and evenings and public holidays.
The successful applicant will have excellent customer service skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
· Preparing, serving, and selling a variety of coffee beverages including lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and other espresso-based drinks
· Preparing and serving non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks
· Selecting, grinding, and brewing coffee beans to maintain beverage quality and consistency
· Operating espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment
· Cleaning and maintaining coffee-making areas, service areas, and espresso machines
· Replenishing drink dispensers, shelves, refrigerators, milk supplies, and other stock items
· Collecting payments for sales and operating cash registers and EFTPOS systems
· Promoting café products and services to customers
· Washing glassware, cups, utensils, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas
· Assisting with stock rotation, milk management, and restocking for the following day
· Assisting with opening and closing duties of the café and coffee machines
· Providing excellent front-of-house customer service and assisting in running the floor when required
Skills and Experience Required
· Minimum of 1 year of commercial Barista experience is required.
· Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and under pressure
· Strong communication and time management skills
· Honest, reliable, and hardworking
· Positive and confident attitude
· Strong initiative and ability to work sole charge when required
· Good personal hygiene and presentation
· Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
· Zero tolerance for drugs in the workplace; pre-employment drug test required
· Clean character background; Ministry of justice check required
· Must be able to provide references from previous employers, school, or college
