Country Bake is a proudly local, family-owned Northland bakery and café group, established in Ruakaka in 2012. We are recruiting Cafe and Bakery Assistants for opportunities in Ruakaka, Marsden Cove, Waipu and Mangawhai. Please state your available location when applying.

Our front-of-house team sets the tone for every visit. We are looking for warm, reliable people who can serve customers efficiently, keep our stores inviting and take pride in the small details. Experienced applicants and junior applicants seeking a genuine first work opportunity are both welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide fast, friendly and respectful service.
• Take orders, operate the point-of-sale system and handle payments accurately.
• Prepare drinks and simple food items according to the role and training provided.
• Present and restock cabinets, package bakery products and maintain product displays.
• Keep customer, counter and service areas clean, organised and ready.
• Support opening, closing and wider team duties as rostered.

What we are looking for

• A reliable person with a positive attitude, good manners and practical common sense.
• Confidence speaking with customers and working calmly when it is busy.
• A team player who can also take responsibility and work independently.
• Café, retail, food-service or barista experience is useful but not essential.
• Availability for rostered weekdays, weekends and public holidays according to the role.
• The legal right to work in New Zealand.

Junior opportunities
