Job Description
Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do at Mövenpick Hotel Auckland. As a Barista & Food and Beverage Attendant, you are more than a coffee maker or server. You are a host, storyteller, and ambassador for our hotel and dining experiences. From crafting exceptional coffee and beverages to showcasing the unique flavours of BODA Restaurant, you play an important role in bringing the Mövenpick experience to life. Through warm, personalised hospitality and genuine guest connections, you create memorable moments that leave a lasting impression. With a passion for hospitality, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, you consistently deliver exceptional service while building meaningful connections with our guests.
Role Foundations:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and maintaining equipment, service areas, and supplies.
- Provide proactive food and beverage service across restaurant, bar, and café operations while maximising sales opportunities through recommendations and upselling.
- Develop a strong knowledge of our menus, beverages, and hotel offerings to confidently engage with guests.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the kitchen and wider hotel team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Deliver prompt, professional, and personalised service to create memorable dining experiences.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness across all service and guest areas.
Qualifications
Whilst talent and attitude are our primary requirements, you also have:
- A passion for hospitality, quality service, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Barista certification and/or previous experience preparing specialty coffee is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage naturally with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- A strong command of written and spoken English.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A positive, adaptable approach with the ability to remain composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster across 7 days, including weekends, public holidays, and a variety of shift times.
- A professional presentation and a genuine enthusiasm for showcasing our food, beverage, and hotel experiences.
