Full job description

Columbus Coffee Dunedin is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Café Assistant to join our vibrant team. If you have a passion for great coffee, love delivering exceptional service, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Remain a professional representative of Columbus Coffee at all times
  • Full uniform to be worn at all times and to be maintained to a high standard
  • Adhere to Columbus Coffee Policies and Procedures
  • Works within Health, Safety and Hygiene standards at all times
  • Reports all incidents, accidents and hazards according to Columbus Coffee Policies and procedures

  • Communicates effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Be knowledgeable about both food and beverage products on offer, in order to be able to meet customer requirement
  • Assist all customers as required

  • Acknowledge and deal with any customer complaints from floor/seated customers.
  • Escalate any unresolved issues or complaints to Store Manager
  • Preparation and presentation of counter food and beverages according to Columbus Coffee specifications and Standards
  • Maintain a high level of food and general hygiene practice at all times
  • Setup and/or close down store as per Columbus Coffee standards and checklists
  • Perform duties as per the daily deployment sheet and the store manager request
  • Maintain stock levels of cold beverages and other supplies in the fridge / freezer / counter and storeroom.
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning duties as directed by the Store Manager
  • Monitor Barista/counter requirements for cups, plates, saucers, and cutlery, to ensure service times are maintained
  • Prompt clearing and cleaning of tables and surrounds
  • Presentation and service of food and beverage as per Columbus Coffee Standards
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the store is maintained

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and you will be paid between $25 to $27.50 per hour.
