Job Title: Apprentice/Trainee Electrician

Hourly rate: Between $35 per hour
We are an Auckland/Waikato based electrical contracting company doing residential, commercial and industrial work all over the region.
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our friendly team in Auckland. You should have a positive attitude and be willing to learn. You must be mature and responsible when it comes to dealing with tough situations. You will have to be physically fit, a fast learner someone who enjoys working as part of a team.
We offer variety of ongoing training and exposure in residential, commercial and industrial properties and a great team culture, The hands-on experience you receive will ensure your career is accelerated and your dedication is recognised as we love seeing you grow your skills.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
Assist in carrying out the following prescribed electrical work under the supervision of Electrician:
- Assisting with repairs of equipment and electrical faults
- Determining the condition of electrical installations
- Completing electrical installations and carrying out various maintenance duties
- Coordinating with the Electrician and Construction Workers on site
- Identifying electrical systems in preparation for work
- Install, repair, and maintain various electrical systems, electrical wiring and equipment
- Selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
- Connecting electrical systems to power supply
- Carrying out works as per industry agreed timeframes and to a high standard
- Ordering electrical equipment/parts and equipment as directed
- Maintaining a record of all the daily activities
- Addressing and resolving customer queries
- Ensuring that the work area is cleaned before and after work
- Adhering to the health and safety protocols at all times
- Carry and deliver materials
To be successful in your application, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Hold a current driver license
- Previous Electrical qualification or experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Flexible Work Availability as you may be required to work during evenings and weekends if and when required
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to read safety warnings, and guidelines
- Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety
- Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
- A great attitude combined with a practical mindset – you can think on your feet
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- An awareness of industry safety requirements
- Excellent fitness and physical ability to carry out manual tasks
- Be honest and trustworthy
- Take pride in your work and go the extra mile to make sure the job is top notch
- Great people skills, both with fellow workmates and customers
- Enjoy coming to work and willing to be part of a team.
- No Criminal Record and able to clear the drug test
