About the role
As a Casual Café Assistant / Barista, you'll help create a warm and welcoming café experience for our residents, their families, visitors, and staff.
Your day could include:
- Preparing quality espresso coffee and other hot and cold beverages.
- Taking food and beverage orders with a friendly, customer-first approach.
- Serving meals and café items.
- Operating the point-of-sale (EFTPOS/cash register).
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
- Cleaning café equipment and keeping the café looking its best.
- Assisting with general kitchen duties when required.
What we are looking for?
We're looking for someone who enjoys being busy, thrives in a team environment, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience working in a café or hospitality environment.
- Confident barista skills, including operating a commercial coffee machine and preparing a range of espresso-based beverages.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- The ability to multitask and stay calm during busy service periods.
- High standards of personal presentation and professionalism.
- A Food Handling or Hygiene Certificate (preferred but not essential).
