Chef, Cook Restaurant jobs in Hamilton, Waikato

• Prepare, cook and present a variety of Indian dishes according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
• Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, recipe development and improvements to existing dishes.
• Monitor food quality, taste, presentation, portion sizes and consistency.
• Organise food preparation and coordinate cooking activities during daily service.
• Prepare ingredients and ensure meals are cooked and served within required service times.
• Prepare meals according to customer dietary requirements and food allergy instructions.
• Check ingredient freshness, storage conditions and appropriate stock rotation.
• Assist with ordering kitchen supplies and maintaining stock levels.
• Support inventory management, portion control, food costing and reduction of food wastage.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Follow New Zealand food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Assist with training and guiding junior kitchen staff when required.
• Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assist with stocktaking, kitchen records and daily food preparation activities.

Pay: $34.00 – $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30.0 per week
