Cafe Chef – Columbus Café Mitre 10 MEGA Mt WellingtonWe're on the hunt for an experienced Chef to join our team!

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Chefto join our kitchen team at Columbus Café, Mitre 10 MEGA Mt Wellington. This is a permanent full-time position with a minimum of 37.5 paid hours per week. Our café can shift from quiet to busy within minutes, so we're looking for someone who can stay organised, adaptable and composed during busy service periods while consistently delivering high-quality food and service.

What you will be responsible for

• Preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard
• Assisting with food preparation and daily kitchen operations
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
• Following food safety and hygiene procedures
• Assisting with stock control, stock rotation and kitchen organisation
• Working efficiently and supporting the team during busy service periods
• Contributing to a positive team culture and customer experience

What we're looking for

• Previous commercial kitchen experience in a chef or cook role
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Reliability, initiative and a positive attitude
• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Pride in producing quality food and maintaining high kitchen standards
• The ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
• A sound understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
