Full job description

Shahi Patialvi Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Operations Manager to oversee and manage the operations of our courier business in the Waikato region. This role involves managing the delivery fleet, coordinating logistics, ensuring timely and reliable service, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee day-to-day courier operations to ensure deliveries are completed accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes.
  • Organise delivery schedules and route allocations to improve operational efficiency and meet service expectations.
  • Hire, train, and supervise drivers and support staff, while promoting a productive and high-performing work environment.
  • Monitor fleet servicing and maintenance requirements to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant with transport and safety standards.
  • Oversee operational budgets, track fuel consumption, and manage costs to support business profitability.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety requirements and courier industry regulations.
  • Respond to and resolve delivery disruptions, customer concerns, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess delivery performance, service standards, and overall efficiency.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other business stakeholders.
  • Use courier and logistics systems to manage route planning, real-time tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Prepare operational and financial reports for the Director to assist with business planning and informed decision-making.

You will be required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $30 to $40 per hour, subject to skills and requirements.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience or at least a relevant level 5 qualification.
  • Flexible to work on Saturdays to meet the business needs.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour
