At Ranfurly Care Society, we aim to create a safe and supportive community where people with intellectual disabilities grow, thrive and live fulfilling lives through our residential homes and Activity Centre.
About the Role
We are looking for a confident support worker who leads with initiative to work with people with Intellectual Disabilities and Learning Difficulties in a residential setting. The position involves a mixture of disciplines, including supporting people with intellectual and physical disabilities to fulfil life skills, personal cares, behaviour support and comprehensive report writing and care planning. This is a 32 hour per week, full-time position, with the opportunity to cover additional shifts when required.
About you:
*Sense of humour, fun, energetic.
*Be able to complete comprehensive report writing and observational note-taking.
*Must have initiative, exceptional social skills, and ability to relate to others.
*Must adapt to change and think holistically.
*Must be flexible with time and changing shifts in a 24/7 environment. Must work one weekend day per week.
*Must have great organisational skills and have a calm disposition.
*Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
*Must have minimum level 4 in Community Health Care and Support, Health and Wellbeing or relevant/ equivalent certificates or above in Health Support Assistants/Carers qualification.
*Must have at least 1 years experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
Shifts are based on a 24/7 roster.
Job Type: Full time, 32 hours per week.
Remuneration: $28.25 (Minimum) to $35.00 (Maximum)
This role is based in three sites in Epsom, Auckland. Please refer to the job description for details.
What your tasks will be
- Supporting residents with their daily routines such as meals, personal hygiene and household tasks.
- Administering medication.
- Working as a key-person with residents, helping them reach their goals.
- Comprehensive report writing and observational note taking.
- Attending community events
- Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our residents.
- Supporting residents with their living skills programme.
What we’re looking for
- Someone with a sense of humour and who is fun and energetic.
- Must have initiative, and good socials skills with the ability to relate to others.
- Must be flexible with time.
- Must have great organizational skills and have a calm disposition.
- Must be willing to upskill and acquire relevant work-based qualification and attend all training needs.
- Must have relevant experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- A full, clean NZ drivers licence is a must.
- A minimum Level 4 Certificate is a must.
Pay: $28.25 – $35.00 per hour
