Introduction:
We are proud to be the only paramedic service in Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, and the only ones in the country who are free.

Description:
About the role

Our Event Medics play a vital role in our community, supporting a wide range of events across Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, from major sports and concerts to local fairs, and assisting frontline crews during emergencies.

We’re now recruiting Event Medics for Wellington-based events, starting 19 September. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality pre-hospital emergency care, follow clinical and operational procedures, and complete accurate documentation.

It’s a big responsibility, but we’ll provide the training and support you need to become a confident First Responder. If you’re passionate about helping others and keen to learn, we’d love to have you on board

Skills and Experiences:
Who we are looking for

The successful candidates will be able to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions in a timely manner, and relate well to all kinds of people. They will also work well in groups and display strong leadership qualities.

Successful applicants must meet the criteria below and be able to commit to the following:

Current First Aid certificate aligned with unit standard 6400 and one of the following sets: 6401 & 6402 or 26551 & 26552 or equivalent.
Compulsory training dates will apply for successful candidates (note: not all listed dates may be required). Please ensure you are available to attend all scheduled sessions

  • 10-11 Oct
  • 17-18 Oct
  • Driving assessment dates to be arranged
An interview date between the 20th – 22nd of July
Be physically fit for lifting and capable of meeting the demands of the role
Have excellent communications skills and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
Please note that you can apply for this role without a Driver's License, however if you would like to become an Event Medic with driving as a component of your role you must have held a full driver’s License for minimum of 2 years and hold a Defensive Driving Certificate received within the last 3 years.

To join our team, you’ll need to commit to a minimum of 3 events per any 3 - month rolling period and 16 hours of training over a two-year period. We know this is a big ask especially if you're working or studying - so please make sure you're ready for the commitment before applying. There's a lot to learn, and we want to ensure you're set up for success from the start.

The recruitment process includes a behavioural interview and reference checks.
