Support Worker - Presbyterian Support New Zealand

Position Overview

A Support Worker at Enliven provides personal care and practical assistance to older people, people with disabilities, and clients recovering from illness or injury. Support is delivered in clients’ homes and community settings, with a strong focus on independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care Support

Assist clients with bathing, showering, dressing, and grooming

Support mobility, transfers, and safe movement (walking or wheelchair assistance)

Provide medication reminders where permitted

Deliver respectful care in line with individual care plans

Daily Living Assistance

Prepare meals and assist with feeding when required

Support light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping

Encourage clients to maintain independence at home

Community & Emotional Support

Provide companionship and emotional support

Assist clients with appointments and community activities

Encourage social participation and wellbeing

Build positive relationships with clients and families

Care Plan & Reporting

Follow individual care plans and instructions

Record care provided accurately

Report changes in client health or behaviour

Communicate with coordinators and nursing staff

Travel & Mobility

Travel between client homes using a personal vehicle

Maintain reliable and punctual service schedules

Record travel and mileage as required

Skills & Experience:

Essential

Compassionate and caring attitude

Strong communication skills

Ability to follow care plans and instructions

Full NZ driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Physical ability to support mobility and care tasks

Desirable

Level 2–3 Health and Wellbeing qualification

Experience in aged care or disability support

First Aid certificate

Knowledge of dementia care

Pay: From $6,200.00 per month
