Applications are now open for our 2026/27 Water Engineering Summer Internship Programme.
If you're passionate about water and interested in designing sustainable solutions for communities, infrastructure, and the environment, this internship is for you.
As a Water Engineering Intern at Tonkin + Taylor (T+T), you'll work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists on a diverse range of projects across the water sector. From stormwater, wastewater, and drinking water infrastructure through to flood resilience, catchment management, and environmental outcomes, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while applying your academic learning to live engineering challenges.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:
Graduation expected between late 2027 and late 2028
A GPA of approximately 6.0 or above (out of 9)
The right to work in New Zealand
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively within a team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Initiative, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn
Participation in extracurricular activities, part-time work, volunteering, clubs, sports, or community initiatives
