Ostend Pizzeria is seeking an energetic and reliable Fast Food Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality pizzas and other menu items efficiently while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and customer service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking

• Prepare and cook pizzas, garlic bread, pasta, fries, sides, and other menu items according to company recipes and quality standards
• Prepare ingredients including chopping vegetables, portioning toppings, preparing dough, and sauce preparation
• Operate kitchen equipment including pizza ovens, fryers, and food preparation tools safely
• Ensure food is prepared and presented consistently to company standards
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures

Kitchen Operations

• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
• Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, trays, and equipment
• Assist with stock rotation and storage following FIFO procedures
• Report stock shortages or kitchen maintenance issues to management

Food Safety & Compliance

• Follow all New Zealand food safety regulations and hygiene standards
• Ensure correct food storage and labeling
• Maintain cleanliness at all times
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures

Customer Service Support

• Work efficiently during busy service periods
• Assist in ensuring customer orders are prepared accurately and on time
• Support front-of-house staff when required

Teamwork

• Work cooperatively with kitchen and service staff
• Follow instructions from supervisors and management
• Assist with training new team members when required

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous kitchen, fast food, or pizza preparation experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good time management skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Qualifications

• Food safety knowledge preferred
• Relevant hospitality experience is an advantage

Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour
