About the Role
We are seeking skilled and motivated Gardeners to join our team. The role involves planning, installing, and maintaining gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas for residential and commercial properties. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality outdoor environments that meet client needs. This is a permanent, full-time role and we currently have multiple vacancies in the company to fill.
Key Responsibilities
- Planting and propagating trees, shrubs, hedges, Mowers, and bulbs to maintain healthy and attractive landscapes.
- Setting up lawns by spreading topsoil, sowing grass seeds, or laying instant turf.
- Planning garden layouts, selecting materials and plants, and scheduling landscaping projects.
- Maintaining lawns and gardens through regular mowing, watering, fertilising, trimming, and weeding.
- Preparing garden beds and planting areas by improving soil and setting up ideal growing conditions.
- Pruning and shaping trees and hedges and installing plant supports or protection structures as required.
- Inspecting trees for health issues, removing dangerous branches, and shaping them using handsaws or chainsaws.
- Spraying and treating plants to prevent or control pest and disease problems and removing unhealthy trees when needed.
- Constructing paved areas, gravel sections, and other landscape features to enhance outdoor spaces.
- Transporting tools, materials, and equipment to work locations.
- Communicating with customers, preparing quotes, and reporting daily work progress to ensure smooth operations.
Skills & Experience Required
- One year or more of experience working in a similar role or industry is required alternatively in the absence of relevant field or relevant industry experience, a Certificate or above level qualification is required
- Ability to use gardening tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of plants, soils, pest management, and turf care.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Flexibility to work to meet operational demands.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Class 1 driver’s license or overseas equivalent, or ability to obtain one is strongly preferred.
- Health and safety knowledge and training (advantageous).
