Mo te tunga | About the role
Join a close-knit, family-oriented team within the Defence Logistics Command (Maritime) at Devonport Naval Base, where you'll play a key role in supporting the Royal New Zealand Navy's supply chain and transport operations. This is a varied, hands-on position that combines driving, warehousing, and customer service responsibilities, ensuring the right equipment and materials are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
No two days are the same. You'll work alongside a supportive team that values collaboration, reliability, and a good sense of humour. Whether you're transporting goods, managing warehouse activities, or assisting customers, you'll be trusted to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and contribute to a positive team culture while supporting important Defence operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing transport and delivery support across the Devonport Naval Base and wider NZDF community.
- Assisting with warehousing, distribution, inventory, and freight activities.
- Delivering excellent customer service and respond to enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain high standards of safety, vehicle care, and operational compliance.
The salary for this role ranges from $59,592 - $67,370, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.
Applications may be reviewed upon receipt. It is advised to apply early to avoid disappointment, as this role may close ahead of time due to a high volume of applicants.

Whether you're an experience driver, warehouse operator, or someone with transferable skills looking a new challenge, you'll thrive in this role if you're safety conscious, customer focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced operational environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- Full Class 1 and 2 driver's licence.
- Forklift licence and/or Dangerous Goods endorsements are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Positive team player who enjoys a laugh and commitment to workplace health and safety.
This role requires occasional domestic travel across NZDF's Camps and Bases. You need to have a Class 1 Full Driver's Licence.
