ROLE

ASM Properties Limited T/A Chaahat Indian cuisine is well known and popular Indian Cuisine restaurant in Auckland city region.

We are actively seeking Indian Chef to join our restaurant. There are a number of full-time opportunities, which include weekend work, flexibility is a key requirement of the roles. We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for cooking and making great meals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will demonstrate experience and knowledge to join our restaurant.

Responsibilities will include:

· Preparing and cooking Indian food ensuring food quality

· Plan and develop menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings

· washing, cutting, weighing and preparing raw ingredients for menu items

· Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation

· cooking food quickly and efficiently according to customers' orders

· arranging food on plates or packs to be taken away

· creating new recipes and design

· ordering food supplies and delivery

· training and supervising staff if required

· demonstrating cooking techniques to cooks

· keeping the work areas clean and tidy and enforcing hygiene regulations

· monitor stock levels, manage ingredient orders and buying food supplies and cooking equipment if required

· Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, and ensuring that all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet restaurant's specifications and commitment to quality

· Ensure that food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities and also cooked at temperature required in cooking equipment's

· Maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen and apply proper food-handling techniques

· Ensure that all equipment, and work areas have conformance to health standards

· Adapt dishes based on customer feedback and preferences, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for quality.

PAY AND CONDITIONS

  • Full time permanent position
  • At least 2 years’ experience or a relevant qualification equivalent to a level 4 qualification on the NZ register or a higher qualification.
  • Minimum hourly rate: $25 per hour
  • Maximum Hourly rate: $40 per hour
  • Minimum hours: 30 hours per week
  • Maximum hours: 50 hours per week
  • Monday to Sunday - Shifts to be determined as per roster
  • Must be Available for Long weekends, School holidays, all stat days and ready to do Split Shifts
  • Must have good health and clean character record
