Indian Chef – Job Description

An experienced Indian Chef is responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, hygiene, and consistency.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide range of Indian dishes, including North and South Indian cuisine.
  • Prepare curries, tandoori dishes, naan, rice, starters, and vegetarian dishes.
  • Ensure consistent taste, portion sizes, and presentation.
  • Manage food preparation and kitchen operations during busy periods.
  • Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
  • Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required.
  • Follow recipes and contribute ideas for new dishes and menu improvements.
  • Work efficiently as part of a professional kitchen team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Indian Chef.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and ingredients.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Food safety knowledge and a strong focus on cleanliness.

Pay: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour
