Indian Chef – Job Description
An experienced Indian Chef is responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, presentation, hygiene, and consistency.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare a wide range of Indian dishes, including North and South Indian cuisine.
- Prepare curries, tandoori dishes, naan, rice, starters, and vegetarian dishes.
- Ensure consistent taste, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Manage food preparation and kitchen operations during busy periods.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise food wastage.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required.
- Follow recipes and contribute ideas for new dishes and menu improvements.
- Work efficiently as part of a professional kitchen team.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Indian Chef.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and ingredients.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy restaurant.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Food safety knowledge and a strong focus on cleanliness.
Pay: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour
