Job - Indian chef

Location - West Auckland

Hours - 35 / week

Pay rate - $27- $32

Experienced Curry and tandoor Cook wanted .

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian curries, gravies, and accompaniments. Develop and follow standardized recipes to maintain consistency and taste.
  • Manage the preparation of spice mixes (masalas), marinades, and pastes.
  • Ensure proper cooking techniques such as tadka/tempering, slow cooking, and roasting of spices.
  • Create menu items and specials based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Maintain high kitchen hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and stock levels.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff as needed.
  • Work with management to control food costs and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate timing and delivery of dishes during peak hours.

Job Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Curry and Tandoor Chef (preferably in a high-volume or fast-paced environment)

Passion for quality, presentation, and consistency

Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

Commitment to safe and hygienic kitchen practices
