The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant and Office Administrator to join our friendly team in Newmarket. We are a well established Underwriting Agency based in Newmarket. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day underwriting operations. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career or develop a pathway into Insurance within an encouraging team environment. It is a part time 30 hour per week opportunity, ideally 9am- 3pm daily.

What you'll do

  • Assist with preparing and processing insurance documentation
  • Enter and maintain policy information accurately within our systems
  • Respond to client enquiries via phone and email
  • Prepare quotes, renewals and policy documentation
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and filing systems

About You

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Takes pride in producing accurate work
  • Proactive and able to manage competing priorities
  • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, close-knit team
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Willingness to learn systems and underwriting processes
  • Comfortable learning new software and internal systems
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information

Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience in administration, insurance, banking, finance or another professional services environment an advantage
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to follow processes and maintain high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
