We are a team of 20 consultants based in Ponsonby, Auckland. Our work is varied and interesting – from preparation and assessment of resource consents, to district plan policy development, private plan change requests, Fast-track development and strategic planning across the country.
We work with private sector clients, iwi, central and local government, and institutions. Our projects are diverse, fast-paced and often at the leading edge of planning practice.

About you – Key attributes / Key Competencies:
The position holder would be expected to demonstrate the following key competencies and personal attributes:
- A relevant tertiary qualification;
- Ideally at least 3-5 years’ full time experience for an intermediate planning role;
- Ideally over 6 years’ full time experience for a senior planning role;
- Knowledge of planning legislation and practice;
- Sound planning judgement;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong project focused expertise;
- Enthusiasm, perseverance, and a positive attitude;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- People person and team player;
- Cultural competency;
- Motivated to exceed client expectations;
- Well-organised and accurate;
- Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment; and
- A polite and friendly manner.
Typical Functions:
The duties and functions that the position holder might be expected to perform would include planning work related to the:
- Preparation, processing and lodging of resource consents, outline plans of work and certificates of compliance;
- Development of plan changes, district and regional plans and policy statements;
- Preparation of Fast-track referrals and substantive applications;
- Preparation of notices of requirement;
- Provision of professional planning advice to clients;
- Monitoring industry news and information;
- Consultation with mana whenua;
- Undertaking of planning related research, analysis and studies;
- Preparation of fee proposals for the consideration of prospective clients;
- Preparing tenders; and
- Other duties as may be required.
