At Orion Health, our Software Engineering Summer Internship Programme gives you the opportunity to work on real products, solve meaningful technical challenges, and learn alongside experienced engineers who are building technology that improves healthcare for millions of people around the world.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll work as part of an engineering team, contributing to products that help healthcare organisations deliver better patient care.
Depending on your team, you could be involved in:
- Designing, building and testing software features
- Writing clean, maintainable code
- Debugging and solving technical problems
- Developing APIs and backend services
- Working with cloud technologies and modern development tools
- Collaborating with product managers, designers and engineers
- Participating in agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
Throughout the internship you’ll receive regular feedback, coaching and opportunities to expand your technical skills while gaining valuable commercial software development experience.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for curious, motivated students who enjoy solving problems and are excited by technology that makes a real difference.
Your background
You’ll be currently studying towards a degree in:
- Software Engineering
- Computer Science
- Computer Systems Engineering
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Or another related discipline
Technical skills
You’ll have some experience with Java through your university studies, personal projects, hackathons or previous internships.
Experience with any of the following is an advantage:
- JavaScript or TypeScript
- React or Angular
- HTML/CSS
- SQL and databases
- Git
- REST APIs
- AWS or Azure
- Linux or Bash scripting
Don’t worry if you haven’t used all of these - we’re interested in your potential and willingness to learn.
