Full job description

Kirin Business Development Manager | Auckland, NZ

We're looking for a commercially minded and relationship driven Business Development Manager to join our On-Premise Sales team in Auckland in a Permanent, full-time position.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine a passion for Japanese brands with your sales expertise, helping grow the Kirin portfolio across New Zealand. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you'll identify new business opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships and drive greater visibility of Kirin products across the market.

You'll also enjoy a base salary of $100,000 per annum, alongside the opportunity to represent one of Japan's most iconic beer portfolios.

A day in the life:

Reporting to the On-Premise Director, you'll play a key role in growing the Kirin portfolio by:

  • Building trusted relationships with existing and prospective customers across Auckland.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and expanding distribution across on-premise channels.
  • Deliver against agreed sales revenue, profitability, volume and execution targets for the Kirin portfolio by developing and implementing commercial initiatives.
  • Develop, define and execute customer strategies that strengthen relationships with key customers, and deliver sustainable business growth across the New Zealand market.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on key sales performance indicators, including Net Sales Revenue (NSR), sales volume, distribution, execution standards and customer engagement.
  • Championing the Kirin portfolio by educating customers on the products, brand story and commercial opportunities.
  • Contributing ideas that improve customer experience, sales effectiveness and business performance.

What you'll bring:

  • Deliver against agreed sales revenue, profitability, volume and execution targets for the Kirin portfolio by developing and implementing commercial initiatives that support Lion's Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Execute customer strategies that strengthen relationships with key customers, identify new commercial opportunities, increase distribution and market penetration, and deliver sustainable business growth across the NZ market.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and build credibility.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A passion for the food and beverage industry, with knowledge of Japanese brands highly regarded.
  • Required 5 years relevant work experience and 3 years’ experience in an On-Premise sales representative role.
