He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the Role:

We're looking for three motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our Track Maintenance team in Hamilton as Trainee Track Worker.

This is an excellent opportunity to start a long-term career in the rail industry. Working alongside experienced team members, you'll help maintain and repair New Zealand's rail network while gaining valuable skills, qualifications, and experience.

You'll be involved in:

  • Maintaining and repairing rail track and infrastructure
  • Operating tools, equipment, and light machinery
  • Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Contributing to infrastructure maintenance and improvement projects
  • Supporting a strong culture of health, safety, and teamwork

This role is physically active, varied, and rewarding, with comprehensive training provided from day one.

We're looking for people who enjoy practical, hands-on work and are committed to working safely.

You'll need:

  • A full, clean New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual work
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to pass medical, drug and alcohol, and Ministry of Justice checks

Advantageous but not essential:

  • Class 2 Licence
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, labouring, or mechanical environments
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, or machinery
