Learning Support Coordinator, Northern

  • 1 x Position
  • Permanent (Start July / August 2026)
  • Full-time 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
  • Based in a Northern Regional Office: Auckland or Whangārei

We're looking for an experienced educator who is passionate about inclusion, equity, and ensuring every learner has the support they need to succeed.

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest state funded school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We offer a wide range of personalised learning programmes and courses, from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including for young adults and adult learners, which are mostly delivered online. We have kaimahi (staff) located throughout New Zealand, three quarters of who are Kaiako (teachers)

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the role

As a Learning Support Coordinator, you will work across early childhood, primary, and secondary contexts. Your focus will be on ensuring ākonga who need learning support are identified early, supported effectively, and able to participate, progress, and move confidently through their learning journey.

You will coordinate learning support across a range of settings, working closely with kaiako, whānau, and specialists to ensure ākonga receive the right support at the right time.
  • Coordinate timely, well‑planned learning support, including interventions and specialist services
  • Work alongside kaiako to strengthen inclusive teaching practice and support diverse learners
  • Build strong partnerships with ākonga, whānau, and agencies, with clear, outcome‑focused communication

Ko koe tēnei | About you

You're an experienced educator who understands how to support diverse learners in practical, inclusive ways. You build strong relationships and bring a calm, organised approach to coordinating support.
  • Registered New Zealand teacher with a current practising certificate and strong curriculum knowledge
  • Proven experience supporting ākonga with diverse or complex learning needs, with a commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practice
  • Confident building relationships and coordinating support across kaiako, whānau, and agencies, using clear communication and strong organisatio
