Full job description
Metlifecare is a New Zealand retirement village and aged care provider that develops, owns, and operates integrated retirement communities offering independent living, serviced apartments, and rest-home-level care for older adults across the country.
A Rest Home or Dementia Care Support Worker (also called a Caregiver or Healthcare Assistant) provides daily care and support to elderly residents, including those living with dementia.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Assisting residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Helping with eating and drinking
- Supporting mobility and safe transfers
- Monitoring residents' health and reporting changes to registered nurses
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with dementia care activities and behaviour support
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Recording care provided and following individual care plans
- Working shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays if required.
Pay: $4,500.00 – $5,400.00 per month
