Full job description

Looking for new Health Care Assistants to join our dynamic and dedicated team as Permanent full-time in Aged Care.

  • Ongoing training and professional development.

  • Flexible to work rotating shifts.
  • Permanent FULL-TIME role. (32+ hours and wkd avail).
  • There will be opportunities to pick up additional shifts if desired.
  • Based in Avondale, Auckland

We are on the lookout for motivated Health Care Assistants to join our dynamic team and help with our increasing business needs at our Avondale based Facility.
Other requirements include:

  • Be committed to providing excellent service delivery as part of our friendly dedicated team.
  • Sound clinical knowledge.
  • Be able to work shift work (mornings/afternoon and night) and weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • They must have good time management skills and be able to lead by example.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in Aged Care is preferred.
  • Certification in Health and Well-being (Level 4) minimum, or at least 3 years related-work experience.
  • Applicants have to be in New Zealand; visa support and paperwork will be provided.

Key Functions include:

  • To ensure a safe environment for residents at all times.
  • To be familiar with our mission statement.
  • To know where all emergency equipment is located and know emergency procedures for fire, civil defense , first aid and medical emergencies.
  • To be aware of the process for accessing on call manager.
  • To be familiar with duty task sheets and ensure all tasks are completed.
  • To ensure that daily care requirements for residents are met, always encouraging them to remain as independent as possible.
  • To ensure that the spiritual and cultural beliefs and needs of residents are respected.
  • If assessed as being competent in drug administration to ensure that all medications are administered following the correct procedures and signed for as required.
  • To ensure that residents dignity and privacy are respected at all times.
  • To ensure that accurate records are maintained for all residents, including contributing to care plans and progress notes.
  • To ensure that a clean and tidy environment is provided for residents.
  • To maintain equipment to ensure safety, reporting in writing any changes or defects.
