- 75 FTE (30hrs per week) 24-month fixed-term opportunity

About the role
Join our Sterile Sciences team in Invercargill and play a vital role in supporting safe, high-quality patient care across Southland. As a Sterile Sciences Technician, you will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilisation, and distribution of reusable medical devices used in surgical and clinical settings. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will help ensure critical equipment is processed to the highest standards, supporting healthcare teams to deliver safe and effective care every day.
- Reprocess and distribute reusable medical devices used across operating theatres and clinical services
- Operate specialised sterilising equipment and follow robust quality management systems
- Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilise equipment in line with industry standards and departmental procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and electronic records to support quality and compliance requirements
- Identify and escalate equipment faults, ensuring devices are safe and fit for use
- Contribute to a clean, organised, and efficient work environment while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety
