Position Description | Medical Registrar About the Team/Service/ Location
Our department consists of ten Physicians in General Medicine with a wide variety of sub-speciality interests, as well as an outpatient cardiology team, specialist nurses, and visiting sub-specialists. We are accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for Basic and Advanced Trainees.
Gisborne Hospital is a 110-bed acute care hospital that serves a wide geographical area extending up the East Cape of New Zealand, creating enormous scope and variety in the clinical work. Providing healthcare to a population of 54,000, Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Tairāwhiti is well supported locally by comprehensive surgical services and has a full range of diagnostic facilities on site including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner. We have strong ties with our tertiary referral centre in Waikato.

About you
Suitable for Resident Medical Officers PGY3 and above.
Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
You will need to be a NZ or Australian citizen or resident, or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ. For more information on visa requirements please visit the Immigration NZ website
Competency with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks is a bonus, commitment to the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches is expected, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
