  • Based across Waitematā District Laboratory sites

About the Role

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist Microbiology, you will provide a high quality, innovative diagnostic laboratory service that meets the needs of our patients, consumers, and whānau.

About Us

Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

About you

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current annual practising certificate and registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, or eligibility to register with the Council.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A demonstrated flexible approach to shift work.

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • 2-5 years of recent experience in a hospital-based microbiology setting
  • Experience, knowledge, or qualification in biochemistry, molecular or immunology testing

The successful candidate will be required to work in both Microbiology and Biochemistry, participating in a 24/7 roster, covering North Shore Hospital and Waitākere Hospital sites.

You will need to be a team player, well organised and able to manage the demands of competing priorities in a busy hospital laboratory environment. If this sounds like you, apply now!
